As Promised....

Snowboarding hurts. But it is SO fun. At this point (a week and a half later) we are still feeling some pain in upper gluteal region (tailbone), but I think it is going away. I think my best description of snowboarding was "A moment of pure excitement (riding) followed by a moment of sheer terror (trying to stop)". You see, stopping is the hardest thing to do. The faster you go, the harder it is to stop. My number one accomplishment was actually to get somewhat better at "falling correctly", as in, sliding instead of tumbling. I took a couple of really painful spills, and Laurie got trounced by a big girl in pink sweatpants, so that didn't help the pain factor. All in all, it was a good time and, for the most part, we've regained all vital body functions, which is good.

Go Mason.

to quote a radio talk show host here in atlanta, "If your tournament bracket is still intact, you don't know [jack] about basketball."

funny thing is, i didn't fill out a bracket for that very same reason

I can vouch for Jeff's progress, and Laurie's too, at least prior to the pink pants incident. Oh, I did a little figuring and if we wanted to try and catch the southern hemisphere ski season in June or July, it's probably only about a 6000 mile drive to the Andes. Figure some delays due to poor roads, customs problems, Panama canal crossing, extra precautions for smuggling weapons (which we'll need in some of the countries we'll go through) and it'll probably only take about 7-10 days if we aren't arrested.
